Pull Mercruiser 7.4L engine from boat for repair? - boat engine repair
I have a '97 Mercruiser 7.4L engine has no oil pressure. I think I need the engine to pull things back on track. I have a friend, car mechanic in the machine for the work cheap, but I received it, must come from the boat. What you need to log off? As you can climb (assuming they have) and use chains? What can I expect if he does not come on you know if it helps, but it is a '95 Maxum 2300 SC is retired. Thank you!

Talk about a ton of work here if you have never before. It can easily take an hour if you have the right to everything and we made a couple of times, but if possible I would take it to a service center. If not, here are some tips.
Depending on the configuration of your boat more than likely, they have the whole engine hatch. Current production Disconnect the fuel line, the son of Terra Drive, the son of the boot trim cable, accelerator cable time, cable MerCathode and basically anything that is attached to the engine and the boat. Remove all 4 3 / 4 "lag screws (2) on each bracket that hold the front is mounted on rails. From 2 3 / 4" screws that are behind. They are both the Bolts to get rid of. Is it a new engine in if you loosen the hose clamps around the exhaust bellows and shoot. Go slowly and make sure you havent forgotten anything, that son of the earth on his back. If you look at the exhaust pipe is stillthe boat and make sure your shutters are there. IF not replace. It may well replace the water pump impeller, so long as the engine off. Good luck
Are you sure that you have no oil pressure, you have checked with a manual switch. Try and get to the dealer and turn the oil pump with a drill. Your auto mechanic friend should have the necessary tools to do so. But perhaps you already think that I twice before inspection. Good luck.
The best way is to buy a manual. Basically, if somewhat heavy on the ropes, ties, scarves and engine bearings. Rent a cherry picker (Ski-engine). The main thing for the resettlement is to ensure that your engine is properly aligned with the outer surface of the device.
