Well, I can not say much about Breckenridge. I have not spent much time there, especially at night, intelligent life. I speak from Steamboat, however. Not currently live, but basically grew up and moved to Fort Collins, CO. From there, a little over a month (I'm still working for an organization, the Steamboat and my family is still there. Believe me, I spent much time there).
Steamboat is a resort for families. It is a mountain of soft snow with a little big, but it is a family resort. There are bars, night life in progress, but not very large. The area of the mountain village has undergone an extensive renovation in recent times and the club scene is not what it once was. Frankly, I've never been impressed by the nightlife in Steamboat. Unless, of course, appreciate that in middle age, alcohol, want to be ski bums who never arrived. Please understand, I love Steamboat. It is a great place. The mountain is large and diverse region is beautiful, the people are great, the city is enough to land ...but I would not go for the nightlife. In recent years, if you are married and have children, take it to Steamboat. Everyone will have a great time. If you are young and have a good time while traveling alone, I would suggest not.
Like I said, I can not say much about Breckenridge. But after having lived in Colorado for skiing all my life, I can take some trends. Breck, I would imagine would be the better choice for what you are looking for, especially because of its location. Breckenridge is a lot closer to I-70 corridor. Many people travel to the Front Range (Denver) for a few days of skiing / snowboarding. Breckenridge is located near Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, Loveland, Vail, etc., throughout the I-70 corridor. Can in Denver, people in an hour and a half hours une. To reach Steamboat would take at least three hours. For this reason, the hip, the boy from the Front Range go spend half the time and go to the other stations, not Steamboat. Youth for a weekend ski trip, theattempts to pass the time. Steamboat is a destination, not a ski trip at the weekend. Most people fly to the local airport, do not drive across town. Thus the atmosphere of a family vacation in Steamboat. Ideal for family, not so great, young for a moment of joy.
Believe me, my life experiences in a ski resort in Colorado, not a human being disproportionately male-female ratio. A ski resort is a grown man. Perhaps because more men than women think that would be ideal for a skier for a while. In any case, I'll tell you now to find local men Steamboat it difficult to get women. Find a single woman in Steamboat is a bit like looking for a Four Leaf Clover. They usually have the choice of men. The bar scene is relatively low, unless it is an interesting group meets every second man in the hope of a woman.
The reason I suggest Breck at Steamboat is due to the proximity of the metropolitan area. You will probably be more young people run from the big city to the mountains for the weekend in Breck ÂșCan you in Steamboat. It is a hell of a lot closer and less expensive (Steamboat with other stations in the corridor of I to compete for 70, so do not bother, cheap).
Basically, whether you are for young people in nightlife and a ski resort, Steamboat can not speak ... I would suggest. Why do you think I am now in Fort Collins?
