Driver's license for the elderly......? - drivers license renewal oh
License seems that I have recently been some older drivers who have trouble dealing with have found (on the sidewalk, it seems the wrong way, etc. ..) and wondered if it would be better for everyone, including older drivers that must be renewed every 6-12 months to see if they are still allowed to drive, because some drivers I've seen as bad as drunk drivers. is a program that already exists? Oh, and I am told not to older people, they should not just on the street anymore. Taking care of my family. Thank you for comments and information.

I think that decisions taken by the family of the elderly. If they decide that the person is not able to work very well, have taken their leave. I agree that we can prove that he still needs to go, but I think that this sentence, because older people vote and do everything we can to get this kind of "handicaps" that can be accepted.
I noticed the same problem recently with the older drivers tend to get from myself, without seeing, cruising through red lights, etc. I am afraid that aggravate the problem, the population is aging.
In the lobby AARP, have to be no laws for the elderly. I agree that an acceptable account of testing for all age groups must be considered, but 6-12 months is too often and too complicated. Ideally, we should repeat the test every 2 years for Young People (16, 18, 20), then every 5 years until age 60 or 70 and then every 2 years.
This does not apply to older people only interfere. It should be pointed out that young drivers is not the greatest, either, as I have before me, without seeing, too. But we have many limitations, as has already been completed, for example, licensing for them.
